    Fifteen feet...

    By Pastor Bobby Schuller

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
    -Matthew 28:18b-20

Christ's Great Commission to us is about going out into our everyday lives and making disciples wherever we go.

I base my principle of 15 feet on this commission. This is the idea that we are called to reach anyone in the 15 feet of space around us. We often think this means we have to love and reach everyone in the whole world. No! You're called to reach the people in the 15 feet or so of space around you. Jesus says we're called to love our neighbor, which is, literally, our "near dweller." That's the cashier at your grocery store, the man driving slowly in front of you on the freeway, or the door-to-door salesperson at your front door.

I truly believe that, if you think in terms of "Lord, wherever I go, whatever I do, I will be willing to share my faith and my life with others," God will bless the work that you do in the world in his name.

Prayer: Dear Lord, in the 15 feet of space that surrounds me at all times, may I radiate your light and love to all I meet. Amen.
